Biennial and Perennial. Long, leafy spikes of bell-shaped blooms make a stately appearance. Colors range from white and shell pink to deep rose, with crimson, maroon, and chocolate markings. Forms basal rosettes in fall; blooms following summer.

After all danger of frost, sow outdoors. Firm by light tamping. When plants are 4 inches high, thin or transplant.

Excellent for background and woodland plantings. Great for lightly shaded areas.
