Butterfly Flower. Annual. The bright, multi-colored flowers of schizanthus look like small butterflies. Enjoy this unusual annual's colorful blooms of pink, rose, purple and white under the canopy of shade trees or in sunny beds and containers. Blooms in summer.

Start seeds in flats or peat pots 12 weeks before last frost. Do not cover seed. Place flat or pots in dark room until sprouts appear. Transplant to the garden after the last frost. Harden off before transplanting.

Excellent as a corner accent in any butterfly garden and may be used in cut flower arrangements. Grows best in cool climates.
