Everyone has their own hectic schedule; whether it’s parenting, a high demand job, or a travel-heavy artist profession, most of us barely have enough time to think. Whenever you’re always on the go and the day’s agenda list is seemingly never ending, it is often times difficult to remember the most mundane tasks. Things like diet and hygiene an often fall to the wayside and result in a loss of motivation to continue on with your day thinking of the lost time for necessities. However at the same time you are struggling with the fear of halting all productivity to do something that doesn’t seem at the moment. Don’t worry, you’re not alone.
Personal hygiene, specifically oral hygiene, has been scientifically proven to be beneficial to your health. Of course there are the obvious reasons like how it keeps you clean and free of dirt and disease, but there are more points to the purpose. On top of making sure you physically maintain a high level of health, it will also positively affect your mentality. Having a clean person improves your outlook and productivity by wanting to make your life and work a parallel of how you are presented. And when presenting yourself to others, on of the first thing they recognize is your smile.
Having a bright white smile isn’t always a deal breaker. In fact some of the hardest working, most productive people in history, ignored many areas of oral hygiene because it wasn’t directly correlated with their work. While this is a fun fact, most people in today’s world do better by presenting themselves as clean and professional. But the work of getting such a great smile while living a fast paced life, running off of teeth-staining coffee and maybe chain smoking gum-affecting tobacco, is often times hard to achieve. Like many other tasks in your life that seem time consuming and out-of-step from your work focus, wouldn’t it be nice to have a shortcut or a quick tip to get that white smile without dedicating dollars and hours to cleaning?
Well you’re in luck. A brighter whiter smile is easily achievable without the consumption of your time. Here are some efficient tips to make your oral hygiene levels shoot up without taking your patience and nerves away:
- Pick up some toothpaste that includes baking soda. Baking soda is a great cleaning agent to have in your toothpaste that doesn’t require any other mixtures or conditioning because it’s already added to the paste. Taking just a few seconds to pick up a brand with it added while in the store can add more whitening power to every brush without adding time. Another whitening agent that can be added while using normal toothpaste is hydrogen peroxide. Although it may seem unconventional, it isn’t dangerous in such a small amount and can help break up and destroy the germs and bacteria that may be clinging to the enamel on your teeth. Just a few drops onto your foamy toothbrush will do wonders for your white smile.
- Hand-held flossing utensils can do wonders to stuck food and gum health without wasting time to pull out floss. Normal flossing techniques require time to wrap the thread, often times needing replacement halfway through, around your fingers tight enough for grip then fitting your hands partially into your mouth. However with a flossing utensil its just as simple as brushing your teeth. Just align it with each gap and give it a quick run through. This saves you a good amount of time you would normally spend in your bathroom.
- General change of consumption can have a significant effect on your smile. Weeding out staining and harmful products from harboring in your mouth will make a difference all on it’s own. Things like wine, coffee, and soda, will all leave deep stains on your teeth after regular consumption. Cutting them out can be beneficial to your smile as well as save your time. Going to the store to buy wine or waiting in line at a coffee shop can eat up your time and in the end will only harm your smile. Oral hygiene is enhanced by the most readily available drink; water. Not only is it down the hall in the water fountain or in the sink in your home, but it will help wash away the food particles without staining your teeth.
Time is always of the essence, and it can be hard to maintain a healthy life and smile when your schedule seems so busy. In order to keep as many of the productive minutes of your day as you can, taking simple steps that are quick and easy can be very beneficial for you. To get the white smile you hope for without sacrificing countless added up hours behind whitening strips and odd gels and creams for your teeth, consider these quick steps next time you’re in the bathroom or making a shopping list.
