What Do You Actually Get with a Holiday Villa?

If you’re looking to go soak up some rays in breathtaking location somewhere in the Mediterranean or Caribbean, why subject yourself to a hotel? Do you really want to be in a building that’s also being inhabited by potentially loud and annoying people? A hotel can make you feel very restricted, the front door of your room simply leads out into an endless hallway and the staff hound you endlessly so that they can ‘help you’ – in return for a tip, of course. They too often lack character, and can never offer real freedom – plus it could take about 10 minutes just to get to the pool – hotels are just not as relaxing as you need them to be. So, what can you do? Where is there to stay that’s quiet, freeing, and has a personality whilst still being practical? Well, I’m happy to inform you that a holiday villa fits the description to a tee!

Your Place, Your Pace

When staying in a holiday villa, you essentially have the place to yourself. Granted, you have to be careful to not damage anything, but that’s just common sense and manners. The only time that you’ll have someone else there is if you get one that comes with domestic assistance – basically a cleaner – which extremely, and as they spend little time at the villa, really not obtrusive at all. So, you will be sat in a villa that is likely bigger than your own house, and probably nicer (sorry, but they are honestly incredible), with not a single other person outside your friends/family to disturb you. Holiday villas allow you to live the high life – pretend the place is yours, and you will feel as if you don’t have a care in the world! Stand on your balcony and look out at the endless ocean, jump in the hot tub or swimming pool, or if you’ve chosen a particularly spectacular villa, play tennis on your own private court!

Holiday in a House

Yes, that’s right, all the things that you usually have to go elsewhere for are right there for you. Never mind the fact that you have the villa to yourself – you have all of it’s facilities too! That’s where the real deal is. In addition to what I’ve previously mentioned (pool, hot tub, tennis court… just a reminder), private holiday villas have so much more to offer. You can have access to satellite TV! Wait, what? You already have that at home? Okay then, how about a home cinema with high-spec equipment, electronic projector and screen, complete with a bar and cinema seats? Bet you don’t have that! Additionally, you could have a home spa with an infrared sauna, a separate steam room, light therapy and rain shower – all with an integrated music system. Still not enough? Have a pond in the garden. With a waterfall. Make some food in a built-in brick barbecue. Then go eat it under a towering palm tree or in an enclosed Italian-style garden. If the picture is not piecing itself together in your head yet, let me make it clear to you: this is how you have a holiday.

The Real Reason People Stay in Holiday Villas

So, what do you actually get out of a holiday villa? I could list more features and paint beautiful images of luxury all day, and while it would all be accurate, it would slightly missing the point. Yes, you get all of the frills and fancies, but what you really get out of it personally is so much greater. You get an experience. You get quality time with your family. You get to stay in a place with a true soul. If you stay in a holiday villa, you’ll get memories that can be shared with your friends and family forever.

Jacob has been travelling with his family for years, but has never returned to the same place twice. He has always tried to find something new as his past experiences have all been lacking something. This year, he went to the Algarve for the second time in a row, as his first stay there was his introduction to holiday villas. He now believes that he has found that ‘something’ and heartily recommends them to everyone he knows.
