As one of the most cosmopolitan holiday destinations in the world, Mykonos has a nightlife that caters for everyone. No matter if you prefer a traditional British-style pub, an evening in a Greek taverna, a piano bar or to dance the night away at a club, you are sure to find what you are looking for. Some of the best places to go out in Mykonos are as follows;
Caprice Bar has been a popular Mykonos bar for years and continues to attract large crowds. In this trendy bar you can sip cocktails and meet plenty of Greek people or just spend the evening dancing the night away.
Cavo Paradiso is one of the top nightclubs in Greece attracting massive crowds and some of the best DJs and entertainment on the planet. It has its own pool and volleyball courts and offers fantastic views of the sea. Cavo Paradiso is a great place to go after getting started on near-by Paradise beach as it doesn’t begin until around 2 in the morning; from then on, it’s party time until well after sunrise.
Another place to go out and let your hair down on Mykonos is the beach, especially Paradise Beach. Many hotels in Mykonos are very close so getting home is easy, though don’t expect to be going early. The beach parties get going around 5pm with the bars blasting out music and providing fun games. From then, the party goes through the night and doesn’t stop until the sun comes up the next day.
A favourite amongst the gay crowd, Kastro Bar is relaxed, comfortable and always busy. Situated in Little Venice, it offers great views and awesome sunsets that can be enjoyed along with cocktails and classical music.
Montparnasse Piano Bar
Montparnasse Piano Bar is another place popular with the gay and lesbian community and offers live cabaret entertainment. Known locally as The Piano Bar, is the only piano bar on the island and offers talented musicians from all over the world. It is a fun, lively place that is said to make the best New York-style martini (and many trendy varieties of the traditional martini) anywhere on Mykonos.
New Face Bar
The New Face Bar (formerly Down Under) is to be found just up from the harbour and is known for playing a lot of reggae and hip hop. The bartender here can make the night as his energy spills over the bar. While he serves the drinks, he smiles and is non-stop dancing, a man who truly loves his job. New Face Bar is a great place to go when you are with you friends and just want to move your body, though the dance floor is a little small so it does get crowded.
Argo Nightclub is situated near taxi Square above Camares Restaurant and overlooks the harbour front. Loud dance music that can be heard from the street bellows out all night so this one is mainly for the younger crowd.
Auron Renius recommends staying at hotels in mykonos that has easy access to one of the main beaches. The beach parties should be tried once as they are an experience not to forget but after an all-night party, getting home should be made as easy as possible.
